This is a very poor site for hosting, buying domain names, basically all their services. We have a basic website on their servers and many times it is not reachable, it times out. While very polite, they have very poor and uninformed customer service. Turn around on tech issues can take more than a week, and usually come back unresolved. Basically, you get what you pay for and you would be better off printing your website on paper and handing it out. At least it will be accessible then.

I'm talking about the Onlydomains.com scam.

I bought a 25$ .nu domain name from onlydomains.com. They said that the registration period is 2 days on their site, but it has been 1 week and they did not register my domain name.

I sent a message on the day I paid, they informed me that it would take 2-3 days. I waited 4 days and still no feedback. I sent a message again after 4 days. The answer given to me was that they informed me that there was missing information. I completed the missing information, I sent a message again, I waited 3 more days and they still did not give any feedback. At the end of 1 week, I asked for a refund. 2 days passed, they did not send messages again. So I gave up on getting $25. I donated to them.

Please do not buy domain name and host from onlydomains.com. These people do not know business ethics.

I recently purchased a domain wif them. Waited more than 6 hours and they responsed it sold. The opportunity cost is too much.

I've been registering domains (com, net, org, eu only) with them since 2015 probably. Great prices, very intuitive admin panel, fast. But for transfering domains to another registrar you should really contact support. Online chat responds in minutes and all the issues are always resolved. Don't know if the email support is that slow as described in the other ratings.

I've used many different domain registrars and resellers and most of them make me uneasy. A domain name is often quite a valuable thing and you want it to be in safe hands. I transferred one domain to OnlyDomains as a test drive, and did a bit of research, and...

- Their prices are amongst the best, especially .nz domains.

- Their website is clean, modern, works well. I don't get stupid 'extras' shoved down my throat at every turn like some do.

- The transfer took a while. .nz domains are usually really quick to transfer but this one took about four hours. At least not several days like .com and others. The slowness is possibly due to the old registrar (metaname) but I doubt that.

- They lost my nameservers. If you have custom nameservers configured, most registrars these days will keep them with the domain. Not OnlyDomains, which means you can't avoid a short break in service.

- I looked at their transfer out process. YOU HAVE TO EMAIL THEM. This to me is a major shortcoming. Everyone else allows you to get the UDAI and transfer out with no further ado.

- An NZ company? Looks like it, but they use an overseas registrar, overseas directors.

- I didn't try their support or other services.

In short, I'm suspicious and won't be using them despite the low price temptation.
